Dr. Kriger is Board-Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He graduated from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago and completed a residency in Foot Surgery with Dr. Earl G. Kaplan at Civic General Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Kriger then served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, as a Captain and as Chief of Podiatry Service at Valley Forge General Hospital, a 3,000 bed hospital in Phoenixville, PA. He then completed a preceptorship in Washington, D.C. with Dr. Charles Turchin, the presidential podiatrist to Lyndon Johnson. After establishing Manassas Foot Clinic in 1972, Dr. Kriger was the first podiatrist on the active medical staff of Prince William Hospital, and one of the first podiatrists to have surgical privileges at both Prince Willam and Inova Fairfax Hospitals. He has also volunteered as a surgeon in developing countries such as China and Colombia. Dr. Kriger sees patients of all ages and performs a full range of foot care including surgeries, diabetic foot care, care for ankle injuries, fractures, sprains and strains, foot trauma, poor circulation, deformities, numbness, athletic injuries.
Dr. Kriger enjoys hiking, playing racquetball and riding his motorcycle. He completed the New York and Marine Marathons, and reached the finals of the over-50 division of the US National Racquetball Association Tournament. He is married, has four children and four grandchildren.
